History Of Khodiyar Mandir Trust

Shri Khodiyar Mandir, located in Rajpara near Bhavnagar, Gujarat, is a revered temple dedicated to Khodiyar Mata, a folk goddess worshipped since the 13th century by the Gohil dynasty. The first shrine was built by Maharaja Wakhatsinhji, and later, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji expanded it into a grand temple. He also developed the surrounding infrastructure, including roads, a railway station, a hospital, and a water system. To ensure long-term care and development of the temple, Shri Khodiyar Mandir Trust was officially established in 1953 by Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji. The Trust manages temple activities, pilgrim services, and cultural preservation. Today, it is overseen by members of the Gohil royal family, who continue to uphold the temple’s spiritual and cultural legacy.
